Children’s Diabetes is a disorder in which a child’s pancreas is incapable of producing the hormone Insulin. Insulin is required to move glucose from the bloodstream into the body’s cells, thus providing the body with energy.

The incidence of T1DM among children is increasing rapidly in India, and the overall annual increase is estimated to be around 3%, the prevalence is believed to be 1/1000 children. Type 1 diabetes is an enormous burden on the child and family.

Along with taking several injections per day, controlling diet and living a very organized life style.  Children with Diabetes who receive poor treatment are likely to get complications such as kidney failure, eye and neurological problems and heart related complications within 10 years of diagnosis.
